Hello, Team Leaders!

We’re almost ready to go! 🎬

Ahead of us lie 60 hours of brainstorming, filming, editing, sleepless nights, improvisation, the occasional “Why are we doing this?” moment, and – we hope – above all, lots of good cheer. And at the end of it all, YOUR FILM will be born!

With just a few days to go until this year’s MUVIT/6x60, we’re sending you the most important information you need to know before embarking on this cinematic adventure.

This year, we’ll be meeting in person again, so we’ll see you at Odiseja Ljubljana, where team registration, the draw for the locations, and the official start of the marathon will take place.

MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2026 – MARATHON START

📍 ODISEJA LJUBLJANA

10:00–11:20 – TEAM REGISTRATION

Before the start, each team must complete registration. Registration is handled by the team leader or their representative.

We’ll meet at Odiseja Ljubljana, where we’ll verify your registration and provide you with the final information before the start.

Please arrive on time – we don’t want anyone to miss the location draw or the first minutes of their 60-hour marathon. 😉

Entry fees must also be paid in full before the marathon begins. If the entry fee remains unpaid, the team cannot participate in the competitive part of the marathon.

IMPORTANT – TEAMS FROM CROATIA AND ITALY

You’ll complete your registration via an online link that we’ll send you on Monday morning. You’ll also be able to follow the official marathon start via this link.

11:30 – REVEAL AND DRAW OF THE LOCATIONS

At 11:30, we’ll all gather at Odiseja Ljubljana.

There will be a welcome from the organizers, a press conference, a few final instructions, and then… THE DRAW!

That’s when you’ll find out this year’s three locations, which will be the same for all teams.

12:00 – MARATHON START 🚀

At 12:00 noon, the 60-hour countdown begins.

And from that moment on, it’s all in your hands.

The idea. The script. Filming. Editing. Sound. Music. Post-production. And everything that happens in between.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2026 – END OF THE MARATHON

FILM SUBMISSION

We’ll send you detailed instructions for submitting your film via email during the marathon.

Submission deadline: Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 00:00 (midnight).

A film is considered submitted on time if it has been successfully uploaded by the deadline.

And one more very important thing:

🎬 THE FILM MUST BE CREATED DURING THE MARATHON

The competition film must be created exclusively during the marathon.

The film may not contain any pre-recorded or previously created audiovisual material that was filmed or produced before the start of the marathon.

This includes, in particular, pre-recorded video or film footage, animations, and other audiovisual material intended for use in the film.

So, when the guidelines are revealed at 12:00 noon, the starting flag drops too. 😉

Whatever appears in your film must be created within these 60 hours.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2026 – PREMIERE AND AWARDS CEREMONY 🏆

📍 ODISEJA LJUBLJANA

After 60 hours of creating, filming, editing, and probably a few too many cups of coffee, we’ll gather again at Odiseja Ljubljana on Friday, August 21.

🎬 AFTERNOON SCREENING OF ALL COMPETITION FILMS

In the afternoon, we’ll screen all MUVIT/6x60 competition films that were submitted on time and successfully received.

This is an opportunity to watch all the stories created during these 60 hours and see together just what can be created in such a short time.

🏆 FINAL SCREENING

As part of the closing night, there will be a final screening of the 12 films selected by the expert jury.

The final screening will be followed by the announcement of the winners and the awards ceremony.

MARATHON RULES

The detailed rules for the marathon are published on the MUVIT/6x60 website under MUVIT/6x60 Rules.

FILM LENGTH

The film must be at least 6 minutes and no more than 9 minutes long.

The closing credits listing the creators’ names are not included in the film’s final runtime. Please ensure that the closing credits are no longer than one minute; otherwise, we reserve the right to shorten them.

GUIDELINES

All teams will receive the same guidelines.

The basic MUVIT/6x60 guidelines are:

OBJECT / SENTENCE / ACTION

The guidelines must be used in a way that is relevant to the action, story, or context of the film. If an object appears in the frame without serving any function, this constitutes a misapplication of the guideline.

For the sentence, the gender of the speakers or the people being spoken about may be changed. The sentence may be used in conversational form, and the word order may be rearranged – but the overall meaning of what is said MUST remain the same.

The given sentence should be used as a complete unit. The challenge lies precisely in incorporating it as organically as possible into the film.

The jury will pay special attention to films that succeed in applying the given guidelines in the most cinematic, creative, and organic way.

The organizer reserves the right to replace any of the guidelines or add new ones before the start of the marathon.

COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS

By signing the copyright and related rights declaration, you confirm that you have secured all necessary copyrights and related rights for all elements used in your film.

This applies, among other things, to music, actors, the screenplay, locations, photographs, footage, and other elements used in your film.

If it is determined that you do not hold the appropriate rights or permissions for any of these elements, the film will not be eligible for an award. If an award has already been granted, the organizer may revoke it.

We would like to draw your attention specifically to music: use only music for which you have secured the necessary rights or obtained an appropriate license.

Suggestions include YouTube Audio Library, online music libraries, or music by artists who have explicitly given you permission to use their work.

THE MUVIT TEAM ON THE GROUND 🚗🎬

This year, we won’t just be staying at Odiseja – the MUVIT team will be touring Slovenia during the marathon to visit you on your film sets.

We’ll come by to see how your films are coming along, capture some behind-the-scenes moments, film any last-minute panic, a great idea, some improv, or simply that moment when you’re all still convinced the film will be finished on time. 😉

We’ll also be recording short statements from the teams and filmmakers on location, so please make sure you’re reachable during the marathon at the contact phone number you provided when you registered.

Of course, we don’t want to disturb you while you’re working – we just want to capture a glimpse of your 60-hour filmmaking adventure and show what’s happening behind the cameras.

So, if your phone rings from an unknown number during the marathon… it might just be us. 😎

BLOOPERS AND BEHIND-THE-SCENES 🎬

Every year, your bloopers and behind-the-scenes footage mean a lot to us, as we can use them in the MUVIT/6x60 aftermovie.

Of course, we’ll be filming some behind-the-scenes moments ourselves on location, but we’d also be thrilled if you’d send us your own footage after the marathon – how you’re making your film, brainstorming ideas, shooting, editing, having fun, solving problems, and all those unpredictable moments that we might not capture on location.

This way, we’ll be able to include your footage in the collective aftermovie and show what MUVIT looks like through the eyes of the teams creating it.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

After submitting your film, please submit:

a thumbnail image in 1920 × 1080 resolution,
an A3 poster for your film, and
English subtitles in SRT format

by 10:00 the following day.
